Herdade do Peso

Essência

Herdade do Peso is a unique place, its 120 hectares of vineyards nurturing twelve different types of soil. Essência do Peso 2015 is sourced from a vineyard with two types of soil (calcium silicate deposit, and altered tuff limestone and chalk) in two different plots, which are marked on the label. The first plot produced a full-bodied wine with aromas of well-ripened fruit, as well as a profound colour. The second added acidity, great tannic structure and a long finish.

Tasting notes

Very profound garnet-red colour. Great intensity and aromatic complexity, with prominent components of very ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and plums. Full-bodied, with firm tannins of great quality, a balanced acidity and a long and intense finish. A powerful, yet elegant, wine.
