Morgado de Sta. Catherina is a perfect expression of the Arinto grape variety from the region of Bucelas, continuing the legacy of the region's great white wines. The Morgado de Santa Catherina estate, including the Quinta da Romeira, was established in 1703, at the behest of the Queen consort of England, D. Catarina de Bragança.
Tasting notes
A citrine yellow colour with golden tints. On the nose, this wine has an aroma of yellow-pulped fruit, particularly of
ripe nectarines, and great aromatic complexity courtesy if its cask-ageing. Full-bodied on the palate, with good
volume, it is perfectly balanced by an Atlantic acidity. There are further aromas from the wine's maturation in oak
barrels, and it possesses a persistent finish.
