Hidden Grape Varieties

Casa Ferreirinha has created a special wine using less common grape varieties from the Douro region to preserve biodiversity and reflect the region’s true terroir. “Hidden Grape Varieties”—typically used in Port wine blends but rarely disclosed—result in a perfect combination with other, more prominent varieties, enriched by a significant proportion of grapes harvested from old vines.

Tasting notes

A ruby color of good intensity. An intense and complex aroma, with notes of red fruits, black fruits, spices, pepper, and a hint of curry, balsamic, cedar, and tobacco box, with subtle, well-integrated oak. On the palate, it has good body, balanced acidity, well-present, high-quality tannins, and ripe black fruit, with a long and very elegant finish.
