The Gastrobar presents a revamped menu of finger food and Port wine cocktails
Sandeman Terrace, an iconic venue in Vila Nova de Gaia, elevates the culinary and wine experience with the opening of a Gastrobar. This new venue promises a delicious combination of unique flavors paired with the historic tradition of Port wine. Located next to the iconic Sandeman Cellars, the Gastrobar now features a cozy indoor area, complementing the already famous outdoor terrace with its spectacular view of the Douro River and the city of Porto.
With this renovation, Sandeman Terrace also introduces a new menu of finger foods and cocktails, where Sandeman Port continues to take center stage. Under the guidance of Executive Chef Bruno Antunes of Grupo Independente and Sous-Chef João Alves, the menu combines the best of Mediterranean cuisine with authentic Portuguese flavors. Highlights among the new offerings include cheese and sausage platters, fried chicken with ranch dressing, creative salads, and signature pizzas—all ideal for pairing with the exclusive creations on the new cocktail menu.
The cocktails on the new menu feature distinctive combinations that highlight Sandeman Porto Apitiv Reserve White and Sandeman Porto Tawny 10 Years Old as bases, promising to reinvent and enhance the way Port wine is enjoyed. Each drink reflects the brand’s commitment to promoting unique and memorable experiences, respecting tradition while exploring new ways to enjoy Port wine.
Raquel Seabra, Executive Director of Sogrape, highlights the central role of Sandeman Terrace as a landmark for lovers of Port wine and culture since 2015. “Sandeman Terrace is a space where tradition and innovation meet, offering a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere that provides unforgettable moments and a distinctive dining experience. With this renovation, we aim to further elevate the way Port wine is enjoyed and shared, reinforcing this venue’s position as a must-visit destination in Vila Nova de Gaia for socializing, tasting, and discovery,” she says.
Sandeman Terrace is open daily, with hours adjusted for the season. In the summer, it is open from noon to midnight, and in the winter, from noon to 8 p.m.
