Following the success of previous editions, the innovative wine course in the field of executive education is back from May through July
Sogrape Wine Academy and the Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) have just announced the launch of the 4th edition of the W.I.N.E. course —Wine is a Networking Enabler—which will take place from May 23 to July 16, 2024. Following the success of previous editions, this innovative collaboration promises to continue strengthening networking, management, and social intelligence skills within the context of the wine industry.
Developed as a pioneering program in the field of executive education, the W.I.N.E. course stands out for strengthening networking, management, and social intelligence skills within the world of wine. This joint initiative between Sogrape Wine Academy and Nova SBE thus offers a unique approach for executives who wish to expand not only their knowledge of wine but also their management skills, combining a unique theoretical and practical component.
The W.I.N.E. course provides an immersive, guided journey to understand the world of wine and acquire skills that facilitate successful decisions, including field trips to prominent wineries and wine-producing regions. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the main types and styles of wines, grape varieties, and wine-producing regions, combining theory with systematic tasting practice to acquire essential practical skills in selecting, handling, and pairing wine with food.
"At Sogrape Wine Academy, we are constantly striving to provide excellent programs and services, as well as high-quality partnerships, backed by an exemplary reputation. Since its launch in 2022, our ambition has been to be a center of excellence in wine knowledge, elevating wine culture for our employees, partners, clients, and consumers. The W.I.N.E. program, developed in collaboration with Nova SBE, is just one of many significant steps toward realizing this ambition, and we couldn’t be more excited to launch what is now the fourth edition of this pioneering course. “The feedback we’ve received from previous editions has shown us that this is an innovative and highly valued program, which is why we’re launching this new edition with the expectation of continuing to do more and better for everyone who combines a passion for wine and management,” notes Filipe Gonçalves, Chief Marketing Officer at Sogrape. During the W.I.N.E. course, the importance of Social Intelligence is also emphasized, promoting a blend of wine knowledge and tools provided by Nova SBE faculty to develop this skill. In addition, participants have the opportunity to connect with a strong alumni community, which currently has about 70 members, strengthening their professional and social networks even after the course ends.
Each edition of the course offers an international experience with the tasting of approximately 50 wines from 30 Designations of Origin (DOs) representing 12 different countries, thereby contributing to a global understanding of the world of wine. The program is led by an outstanding faculty, composed of 5 experts from Sogrape and 3 professors from Nova SBE, ensuring a high standard of teaching and interaction.
The 4th edition of W.I.N.E. will take place from May 23 to July 16, 2024, in an in-person format consisting of 8 sessions at Nova SBE in Carcavelos, Lisbon.
