Sogrape Forms Partnership with by the Wine

By the Wine in Lisbon has just reopened its doors with a completely revamped wine list curated by Sogrape. This new partnership aims to reach wine enthusiasts and features brands such as Mateus, Casa Ferreirinha, Herdade do Peso, Sandeman, Quinta dos Carvalhais, and Quinta da Romeira.

Sogrape has just taken another step toward connecting with consumers by partnering with By the Wine, a restaurant-bar located on Lisbon’s bustling Rua das Flores, which opened in 2015 with a concept centered on a fine selection of wines and the best tapas. This partnership will allow the Portuguese company to explore a new opportunity to showcase and promote its own-brand and represented wines, gaining a foothold in a cult destination for the capital’s wine enthusiasts.

A variety of wines will be available at By the Wine, by the bottle and by the glass, featuring Sogrape wines produced both domestically and internationally—from Argentina, Chile, New Zealand, and Spain. The main spirits represented by the Group’s distributor in Portugal will also be available. The menu at By The Wine blends Portuguese and international influences, creating the perfect pairing with the new portfolio of wines and spirits now available.

“Sogrape has a diverse and versatile portfolio, and By The Wine will allow us to introduce many wines that are true masterpieces of winemaking but are not yet known to the general public. Being in this premier location in Lisbon is undoubtedly an open door to attracting new consumers to our brands, as well as establishing our presence in the capital, a top tourist destination,” says Manuel Guedes, director of Sogrape.

Ricardo Silva Santos, managing partner of By The Wine, adds: “The partnership we’ve now established with Sogrape fills us with pride. Having been in operation for six years, By The Wine has been a success; we’ve managed to delight and build loyalty among both Portuguese and international customers over the years. Now representing the largest Portuguese wine company—and one of the best in the world—allows us to offer an enormous variety of wines, combined with quality and prestige that are widely recognized, and it also gives us the opportunity to offer both iconic brands known nationally and internationally, as well as others that are sure to surprise our customers.”

As part of this new partnership, the venue will also host a number of initiatives to promote and activate the brand, such as presentations of new vintages, special programs featuring winemakers, and tastings of rare wines, beginning as early as June and July with events featuring the Alentejo-based Herdade do Peso.
