Making Port wine more accessible and demystifying it are the themes of the upcoming workshops that Sandeman will be hosting at its cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, starting July 2.
If you usually say, “Port isn’t for me!” or “I only drink Port at my parents’ house!”, now is your chance to change your mind. Starting July 2, and on the first Friday of every month, the Sandeman Cellars will host Port Wine Workshops for groups of 10 people, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
The goal of the Sandeman brand with these workshops is to demystify and make the world of Port wine more accessible to an audience that is just beginning to explore the category. To that end, it will kick off this series of events with a guided tour of the Sandeman Cellars, followed by a workshop and tasting. With a more educational focus, this first workshop will explore five different wines, and each participant will receive informational materials about Port wine.
The workshops cost €40 per person, and reservations can be made at https://winetourism.sogrape.com/.
The Sandeman Cellars is a wine tourism venue certified as a “Clean & Safe Establishment,” meeting all the conditions and measures required by the DGS and Turismo de Portugal. Its reopening, with a focus on the safety and health of all participants, adheres to Sogrape’s Internal Wine Tourism Safety Protocol and outlines the set of guidelines to be implemented as visitors return. Participation is limited to a specific number of visitors per group/visit to ensure the necessary social distancing throughout the tour, which both venues are able to accommodate due to their large size.
