To mark the fourth year of their partnership, Sandeman and Poster Mostra organized an exhibition at Quinta do Seixo, featuring selected posters from the last three editions of an annual open call.
The partnership between Sandeman and Poster Mostra is a testament to both parties’ commitment to art, culture, and innovation. The two brands have joined forces to promote open calls to artists for the creation of posters inspired by the Sandeman brand. This year, as part of the 4th open call, this collaboration has led to an exhibition at Quinta do Seixo featuring selected works from the last three editions of the open call.
This exhibition, which opens on June 1 and runs through December, is free to the public and is curated by Bruno Pereira, the department’s Artistic Director, who selected the winning posters from each year’s open call, for a total of 21 pieces on display. In addition to these, the exhibition will also feature other selected works and vintage Sandeman posters.
“Sandeman has been establishing itself in the art world through partnerships with artists and illustrators, as exemplified by the relationship it has been building with Poster Mostra—an initiative that brings a series of social and artistic messages to life on paper. After three joint open calls, we decided to bring this work to the public in a disruptive way—through an exhibition at Quinta do Seixo that highlights the true fusion between graphic art and the art of winemaking,” comments Filipe Gonçalves, Chief Marketing Officer at Sogrape. Quinta do Seixo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offers a variety of experiences, ranging from vineyard and winery tours to Port and Douro wine tastings, as well as the opportunity to dine at the Seixo by Vasco Coelho Santos restaurant or enjoy a picnic in the vineyard. Poster Mostra is a project created and curated by the cultural agency Departamento, which will also open its 9th edition on June 1, featuring an exhibition of all the works submitted to this year’s Open Call Poster and Open Call Sandeman. It can be visited free of charge through September 1 in Marvila, Lisbon. It stands as a celebration of the public expression of art and words that finds its home on the streets. In this open-air gallery, words, photographs, drawings, and illustrations merge into large-scale posters, transforming the urban environment into a living canvas of creativity and expression. This is a tribute to the powerful media of the past, where art and advertising came together to tell stories and communicate with society.
