The result of an unprecedented partnership between Champagne Taittinger and Hatch Mansfield, the first English sparkling wine with French DNA is coming to Portugal through Sogrape Distribuição.

Domaine Evremond is entering the Portuguese market through Sogrape Distribuição, marking a historic moment in the world of wine: the first time a prestigious Champagne House has invested in sparkling wine production on British soil. This addition to the distributor’s portfolio reinforces its commitment to offering premium, authentic brands of international renown.
Located in Chilham, in the heart of Kent, Domaine Evremond is the result of a shared vision between Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger and Patrick McGrath MW. Together, they identified the terroir of southern England—morphologically identical to that of Champagne—as offering the ideal conditions for producing exceptional wines.
Gonçalo Sousa Machado, CEO of Sogrape Distribuição, states: “The addition of Domaine Evremond to our portfolio reinforces Sogrape Distribuição’s ambition to lead the premium segment with distinctive projects. This launch, developed with Taittinger—our partner since 1992—reflects our ability to anticipate trends and offer the market highly prestigious wines.”
Domaine Evremond Classic Cuvée – First Edition, the result of the expertise of Alexandre Ponnavoy, Taittinger’s Cellar Master, now arrives in Portugal with a blend of 55% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, and 10% Pinot Meunier. The wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation and rests on its lees for more than three years before disgorgement, resulting in an innovative offering rooted in authenticity.
In line with a contemporary vision of excellence, the project is strongly committed to sustainability, holding SWGB (Sustainable Wines of Great Britain) certification, and features a state-of-the-art winery built largely underground, protecting the wine and preserving the local landscape.
Domaine Evremond will soon be available at leading restaurants, specialty wine shops, and select retail outlets, with exclusive distribution by Sogrape Distribuição.
